Sandy Dexter, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2 with her owners Jack Dexter and Jennifer Dexter at her side. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma in January and was not expected to make it much longer due to the extent of the cancer. She was put on some medication in hope to slow down the cancer and make her as comfortable as possible when the time came. However the pills and Sandy’s strong spirit made her never give up and prove us all wrong. Sandy never gave up but her family did not want her to suffer so they made the decision to send her to heaven. There are many words that can be used to describe Sandy .She was sweet, loving, and very spirited. Loyal was Sandy’s most cherished characteristic that I will never forget and always be amazed by. She was my precious and special dog that I will miss forever. Sandy never let the squirrels fast maneuvering skills keep her from chasing them. Even after she had her first ACL surgery and had to wear the cone of depression and then a year later the second. She enjoyed watching Jack play baseball and getting yelled at by the other coaches for running across the field, which never bothered her. Sandy loved Dad (Kurt Dexter) very much and although many times she tested him either by not staying in the back of his truck but up in front on his leather seats, or refusing to go outside when he stood with the door open calling her to come for many minutes. Dad loved her very much and I know is happy to have her by his side again. Sandy made many friends, some that she couldnt be to close too because they would fight each other, but this was only caused by their similar personalities clashing. Along with many other human friends, she would want her life story to be told.
