Lexie and the Monster Outside |

When we took Lexie to Yellowstone Park, she rode in the back seat of the car. When we were leaving the park, we drove through Hayden Valley in a dense fog. A huge bull buffalo emerged out of the mist, standing in the middle of the road. We edged our little Accord around him, and then Lexie woke up. She saw that big shaggy monster through the rear window and jumped up, barking furiously. I reached back to shush her, all the time thinking the buffalo was going to get mad and stomp us in our little Honda. But he stayed where he was, and disappeared into the fog bank as we carefully drove away.
Whenever we wanted to tease Lexie when she heard strange noises, we'd ask her, "Do you think there's a buffalo lurking out there, Lex?"
Still miss you, Darling Girl.
