The Best Boy in The Whole World |

Our beloved boy, Rufus, a smart, stubborn, loving springer spaniel had to be put to sleep yesterday. It was so peaceful for him and I know it's the right decision but it is so hard for my husband and I. Rufus, you were the dog I had waited since childhood to name. I always wanted a dog named Rufus and you, you goofy boy, lived up to the name. You drank my coffee if I set it down for one second, cuddled with me, bent your head when I said to give Mama kisses, traveled with us..even to Rufus, Oregon where you proceeded to growl at your sister, Ginger. How you loved suitcases and our yearly trip to Lake Chelan to go for swimming, go for walks and hangaburgers! You loved food so much and gum. When you quit eating and wouldn't even take gum we knew it was time. I am so glad I got to send you on your way with Mommy and Daddy there with you. Although it broke my heart when I heard you take your last breath I know you are no longer hurting. Rufus, you were the best dog ever and I will always love you!!!
