Casey
Written by Casey Wilson
Casey was a sweet cat, nineteen-almost-twenty years old at the time of her passing. We always commented that she was "too mean to die", judging by the way she hissed and bit everyone she didn't like, but on the inside she was a big ball of love.

At nineteen years old, she was deteriorating fast. She no longer ate much, she couldn't walk without falling, and our six month old kitten was terrorizing and chasing her all through the house. When she got to the point where she could no longer stand without help, we decided the kindest thing to do would be to put her down. At 4:45 PM on February 13, 2009, she passed peacefully in our vet's office, with my father and her vet (I couldn't bear to stay in there while she slipped away).

She put up a good fight, true to her nature. She bit the vet's hand while they inserted the catheter, and threw up minutes before the injection. However, she went peacefully and without struggle, and we are confident she is on the Rainbow Bridge with her friend Socks (who was poisoned in 2001) and Major (who was put down in 1997).

She was very sweet up until the end and never showed anything but unconditional love. I will never forget my Snoodle Doodle/Quesadilla/Fat Cat and we will always remember her.
