My dear sweet lovable Sophie,our time together seems to have gone by so fast.It seemed just like yesterday that we brought you home as a small, fluffy, energetic puppy and after being with our small family for 14 years you're old age caught up to you and this past Saturday. June 18th 2011, you were gone.
I'll never forget that morning hearing you whine and moan because you just could not move. We had decided to find a place to let you go the night before but literally over night your body was ready to go before you were. And so we ended it as quickly and painlessly as possible we let you go with love sticking by your side until your very last breathe as the vet set you free. You're in a better happier place with no more pain or sorrow and we will meet again. Until then our hearts are broken, our home feeling empty, our schedule having to be adapted to your absence. The morning after I found myself ready to get up to feed you before remembering you no longer had to be fed. I will forever miss you mostly just your company I'm so used to you just being here and just the site of your empty dog bowl makes me want to tear up. Even as a 14yr old senior dog you were and still are my baby, my puppy, my best friend, my loyal companion, and I will miss seeing your beautiful adorable fluffy face and seeing those soulful brown eyes and hearing your loud for a small dog bark. I wish I could just hug and cuddle with you one more time. Until we meet again in Heaven good bye Sophie,my dear old best friend. :(             |
