To Lacey Lapos, 1996-2007. You had to leave us too soon but we are comforted knowing that we will see you again. The love of having you is worth the pain of losing you. Thank you for all your love. Rest peacefully.
Love, Ron, Mary, Ron, Pamela, Matthew, Natalie, Lily and Grandpa.
My golden friend departed today,
On a journey I could not partake,
Did I really expect eternity?
Naiive for my own sake.
So few can offer unconditional love,
Always looks with adoring eyes,
Never suggest criticism or judgement,
Striving for attention as prize.
Endless summers by the waters,
Falls and springs in the muddy rain,
Snowflakes frozen in your golden hair,
Leave me aching with pain.
But you loved us so freely,
And mothered us all,
Nurturing and accepting,
Always bounding to our call.
Your faithful loyalty and self-disregard,
Youthful spirit and zest,
Neither wavered or lessened,
As your own outgrew the nest.
The memories overflow now,
As we thank God for the blessing,
Of our true Golden friend,
Who taught us love's lesson.
