My mates name was Sketch. I found him at the Animal Welfare League in Adelaide, Australia. He was a very unusual cat, the keepers said he was deaf...but he just didnt want to listen to the (no joke) Sketch, Skecthy, Old Bean, Sketchmahole... whatever i was calling him that day he would hear me calling him and come running over from whatever yard he was lurking in, however most of the time he spent in our own frontyard, just sun-basking and sitting on the letterbox to greet strangers on the street. He would always greet me with 2 chirps when i got home and 1 chirp as i was leaving... He wouldnt let you pick him up and pat him unless he wanted to be patted....he was a fussy boy, an a**hole some people have said...but he was just like me, we understood each other. He was an all white cat with one blue and one green eye, he loved to leave his fur everything and i was always cursing it but now i find myself looking for his fur on the chairs, my clothes, anywhere...but slowly there is less and less of his fur around the house. Now there is an awkwardness within the house, a void that was filled by Sketches attitude, his prowness, his pride and his red vest(can't believe you wore that mate). On the 27nd of October 2009 at approx 3pm Skecth was Mauled and killed by 2 Staffy pit bulls...I wasnt home but i recieved a call from a neighbour informing me that my cats body was on the footpath.....turns out it was some gutless tool who insists on walking his dogs off the leash....i have stuck up fliers all around the place in the hope that someone saw something....Sketch was a down right prick of a cat...it was his way or the highway....he would want me to take revenge because thats the type of cat he was....i will AVENGE my friends death in some way.. Sketch i love you mate and ill always miss you, you will never be forgotten Love Matt             |
