Abby, my 4th baby
Written by Sheila Harper

I have 3 grown childen; whom I love and cherish, my 4th baby was a little girl black toy poodle. I rescued her when she was about 2. She had long tight locks of curls all over, and needed a bath very badly. I took her to the groomer, and they made her beautiful!! She understood so much English, like, by by, potty, "Abby, do you want to go outside?" Do you want to go for a walk? "Who's at the door?" She would nudge the back of my leg with her little black nose, when she wanted my attention. She would wait outside the bathroom door for me to come out. She slept on or near my bed always!! I would hold her over my shoulder, just like a baby, and pat her back and tell her that I loved her. She was a person, more like a little 3 or 4 yr. old toddler. She had the cutest little trot when she would go on her favorite thing to do, a long walk.

This morning she got up, ate, played, barked at the postman, then layed down and died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The vet said, maybe a blood clot!!! Tonight I am exhausted from crying. I will leave her little bed in the frontroom. I took off her color and a lock of her hair from her ear; with her little pink bow still on it. I loved her; and will always love her. I am looking forward to the day, I find her over "The Rainbow Bridge" Sheila Harper
