I think back to the day my life completely changed. The day of our house fire. The day when the fire took from me what was most precious- my beautiful, beloved boy, Dino.
In the beginning of our life together, I rescued him from a woman after the hurricane. In the fall, I would never be the same. As soon as I saw him, I knew he was my heart. His beautiful brown eyes made me fall in love right away. He would always let you hold and rub his belly. He was all dachshund. The doxie with the moxie. He was always licking your hands UNLESS he heard a noise. It was then he went into attack dog! lol Once, I was sitting on the sofa and he crawled on his belly accross the floor to the toy basket. If I looked at him he stopped. So, I looked away and he POUNCED on the toy and took off running! It was the same way when he tried to get my q-tips out of the trashcan. I still laugh when I think about my boy. Then the day of the housefire- September 19, 2009. I went out and all the dogs came behind me. I became hysterical at my house burning. Dino thought he was in trouble and went back in the house. Everynow and then they run out and I yell treat and they'd run back inside. He thought he was listening to his Momma.             |
