Zipper was the cutest little black cocker spaniel puppy born on Thanksgiving day in 1995. She was so full of love and life you would just laugh watching her run in circles or come up to you sideways bent in half. She was there for me through my first marriage and subsequent divorce and was my warm and loving companion through it all. She and I were a team and no matter what she loved me and accepted me. I eventually got remarried and had two children and Zipper was there through it all, always gentle and patient with them. We even called her "Nanny Z". Today I had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep after her losing battle with an illness. I petted her and told her how much I loved her all day. Right before we went to the vet, we stopped at Mcdonalds and I got her a hamburger and nuggets which were her favorites and definitely not on her normal diet. At the vet, I held her and kissed her and told her what I good girl she was while her life slipped away. What a beautiful creature she was. I am honored to have been her owner. I will love you and miss you my sweet girl. I love you. Goodbye.
