 I had been very depressed when my mother bought Harry home from the pet store just before Christmas 2008. Mum had tried to get me to go to the movies with her and I didn't want to, so she ended up going to the pet store instead and coming home with Harry in a dim sim box. Harry was chosen because he was sitting in the food dish trying to stop all of the others from having any seed. This was just typical Harry, very cheeky and liked to be the center of attention. Harry always made me smile. He loved to sing and whistle. He lived in my room and would sneak out of his pen and would run back in as soon as his freedom was discovered. He loved to explore the recliner chairs and to get his new box house every week. Harry loved his Kung Fu Panda toy and sitting up on the couch to watch the DVD and get lots of pats. When I would introduce Harry to new people he would give them a sneaky nip on the finger, not hard or nasty, but enough to make an impression, he never bit any other time. Everybody loved Harry and helped to look after him. Harry and I would spend a lot of time sitting on the internet so I set up his own Facebook page. Suddenly I met all kinds of people who loved their pets as much as I did and began to make friends on the internet that I actually felt a connection to. Harry inspired me to become a vegan and to sponsor a guinea pig without a home through the Australian Cavy Sanctuary. Eventhough he was gone far too soon from my life Harry gave me so much happiness and really helped to save my life and start to get over my depression. I love Harry and miss him very much but I do believe that all his goodness will be known and he will have many friends and corn cobs over the Rainbow Bridge.              |
