Remembering Dallas
Dallas was a shelter rescue over 9 years ago. Someone had really loved him and trained him well. We were amazed at how he would never wander, beg or go in or out a door without being told to. He would always have to go out to the woods (behind a tree) to do his business. He was a happy-go-lucky, always ready to go, large shepherd mix. When he started not to respond and lost interest in everything he loved, we ran all kinds of tests and finally found the two masses on his spleen. When the vet did surgery to see if it was possible to save him, he found cancer all over. We couldn't put him through more pain just to ease ours, so he never woke up. He stole our hearts from the start and we will miss him. He was the best dog we have had in our almost 50 years together.
