| Good-bye to Boo-Boo |

Boo-Boo came to us four years ago from the Dallas city shelter. I went to find a cat to fill my loneliness after our son moved out on his own. As I was browsing through the cats, this beautiful all-white kitty slipped her paw through the cage and tapped me on the shoulder. She had one blue eye and one green eye, pink ears and nose and paws. She had chosen me to be her person. Boo-Boo was surrendered by an elderly owner who couldn't care for her anymore. She was a real "cuddle kitty" who loved nothing more than sitting in my lap to be brushed and stroked. This week I noticed her breathing had become labored. When took her to the vet today, X-rays showed that she most likely had developed lung cancer; there was no hope for her as a senior cat. As I waited for my husband and our son to arrive at the vet's, I sat in the treatment room and, through my tears, told Boo-Boo the story of Rainbow Bridge. At the end of the story, she sighed, and draped herself over my arm. We sat together and cuddled one last time. Then our family arrived, and we said our good-byes. I know that Boo-Boo will be awaiting for me at Rainbow Bridge. Add as favourites (33) | Quote this article on your site | Print | E-mail
